Ford offers employee discount to all new car buyers in the US as Donald Trump’s auto tariffs go into effect

With United States president Donald Trump’s tariffs sending shockwaves through the auto industry, the expectation is that car price will go up as a result. Ford is looking to mitigate this by offering employee pricing to all Americans through its ‘From America, For America’ campaign.

According to reports by Reuters and Detroit Free Press, the so-called ‘A-Plan’ pricing is applied on most but not all 2024 and 2025 model year Ford and Lincoln vehicles until June 2 this year.

Road & Track notes that the final price of a vehicle under the plan is calculated by taking the dealer invoice and subtracting the holdback fee and advertising assessment, while adding an administration fee.

Additionally, a separate programme for customers who buy or lease an electric vehicle (EV) whereby they will receive a free home charger with complimentary installation has been extended through June 30.

“We’ve got a very healthy stock. We’re in a very competitive position in our stock. And the auto sector, and overall public, has seen a lot of uncertainty in the market right now especially in the automotive space. So, we feel by providing this message in ‘From America, For America,’ we’re providing some security,” said Rob Kaffl, Ford’s director of US sales.
