There is less than a week to go before the start of the paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) 2025, co-sponsored by Carro and RHB Bank, and it’s happening July 19 and 20 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), from 9am to 7pm.
The electric vehicle segment is now firmly a mainstay of the automotive sphere, and one of its most prominent exponents is BYD, which will be showcasing the Sealion 7 at PACE 2025. The brand is celebrating its 20,000-unit milestone achievement in Malaysia with a rebate offer of up to RM10,000 on the Sealion 7, and you’ll have to be quick to take advantage – this offer is limited to 200 units.
Two versions of the BYD Sealion 7 are on sale in Malaysia – the Sealion 7 Premium with its single-motor RWD powertrain, and the Sealion 7 Performance with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain for even more potent performance, as its name suggests.
The Premium delivers 313 PS and 380 Nm from its single electric motor, propelling the electric SUV from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds; the Performance augments that with an additional 218 PS/310 Nm front-axle motor to pack a combined 530 PS and 690 Nm, doing the same benchmark sprint in just 4.5 seconds.
Interior appointments of the Sealion 7 bring the signature BYD fare, comprised of a touchscreen display that rotates between landscape and portrait orientations, the unit in the Sealion 7 measuring 15.6 inches. Occupant commands can be issued from any seat within the Sealion 7, thanks to its four-zone zone intelligent voice interaction system.
BYD is just one of the myriad of brands being showcased at PACE 2025 – BMW and MINI (both represented by Auto Bavaria), Mercedes-Benz (represented by Hap Seng Star), Audi, Denza, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Xpeng, GWM, GAC and Zeekr will all be participating in the event. Two-wheelers will also be present in the shape of BMW Motorrad, while Kineta and Trapo will also be participating to showcase their latest.
