MEGA GALLERY: Mercedes-AMG A45, CLA45 4Matic+

When the world’s most powerful 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine finds its way into a compact car, you know history is being made. The newly-unveiled Mercedes-AMG A 45 4Matic+ and CLA 45 4Matic+ are beasts in their own right, packing up to 421 PS and 500 Nm of torque in the range-topping 45 S guise, enabling a century sprint time of 3.9 seconds and 4.0 seconds respectively.

Regardless of which model you prefer, the compact AMGs share more similarities than their body styles suggest. Both get an eight-speed AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual-clutch transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic+ fully-variable all-wheel drive system with AMG Torque Control, as well as the new Drift mode. AMG Ride Control adaptive damping system is optional.

Customers can opt for the AMG Aerodynamic package, which comes with a front splitter and additional flics, an additional diffuser blade, rear spoiler lips and an even larger rear spoiler lip. The AMG Night and Silver Chrome packages, plus 19-inch wheel designs are also available, should you fancy.

Of course, the cabin comes upholstered with black Artico man-made leather and Dinamica microfibre as standard, complete with sport seats with red designo seat belts, red rings on the air vents, and the AMG Performance steering wheel.

There are also AMG-specific displays for the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, complete with special displays such as oil temperature, lap timer, engine data, or even the AMG Track Pace data logger, should you need it. For now, enjoy the massive gallery, below!
