From Geneva with love – Audi RS5 virus of desire!

The Audi RS5 is one gorgeous, desirable machine, and now that I’m infected with the “RS” virus after close proximity to the red hot lady, I hope to spread the love by sharing some live images with you. Could have shot more if it wasn’t mobbed by crowds, so there you go, it’s after the jump!

As a recap, the RS5 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre FSI V8 engine with 450 bhp at 8,250 rpm, while torque is rated at 430 Nm produced between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. This hand made V8 is the same one as in the RS4 and R8, but with more power. Audi goes on to say that the engine is “right at home even at high revs – almost like a race engine”. The 1,725 kg RS5 manages 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds while top speed is capped at 250 km/h. Audi can increase that to 280 km/h if you ask nicely. With that kind of performance, 9.3 km/l is a very fair trade off.

Massive gallery after the jump!

They (Audi) has to say much to sell cuz in the real world, M3 leads as professional tests always reveal.

Audi 'has to say much' about the RS5 because it never existed before this! It's a completely new model.

Judging by just how well the S5's performance review have been, this RS5 will certainly be a concern for M3.

  • Most photographer would said "racun~~" if there's new dslr/ gear/photography equipment being released into market.

I would say the same for this Audi's red-hot-sexy-nude-lady RS5..I'm totally racun(ed) huhuhu

M3 is rivalled by the RS4, this RS5 i think is more of a competitor to the M6 not the M3

Audi RS5 spied testing at Nurburgring

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F58dSZF7s6k&fe…

Note footage at 0:38. Look at how well in turns in and how nicely the rear slides. Much better Audi these days.

    haywire,

The RS4's nearest BMW rival had been the M3 Sedan and to a degree the M3 Coupe. But now that the RS5 is out, the M3 Coupe is closer to the RS5 as a rival.

The M6 is too way off. It's got a 5L V10 and it's much bigger and heavier because it shares the same platform as the 7 series. The RS6 V10 is somewhat closer to the M6 though it's actually more a direct rival to the M5.

The RS5 is built on the same 'B8' platform which is what the A4/S4/RS4 is also using.

Yes, that will be the big question. RS5 vs M3 Coupe. Which is better. the mags will have a field day. Personally I hope the RS5 wins. I have driven the e92 M3 and its lacking that e46 M3 rawness which I liked

    Ferrucio,

err…the 6 series actually shares the same platform as the 5 series not the 7 series..it is basically a 2 door version of the 5.

haywire, I beg to differ. As far as I can remember the 6 shares the platform of the previous 7. Where did you read otherwise?

  • the good thing with the audi RS series is that they maintained the practicality of their cars and given a monster engine. Hopefully i can afford at least tt rs in the future.
