Germany and Germani come together to bring you these two short films that predate the launch of the Volkswagen Beetle in Malaysia. Playing on the sentimental theme (isn’t that what you’d expect from Volkswagen?), the first video depicts David’s coming of age (played by local Youtube act Joseph Germani) when his parents make a decision to present him with a little box. What’s in the box? What else could be in the box?
The second video brings us 18 years forward, and David teaches his son about taking care of prized possessions. All very heart-wrenching stuff, and more is to come – if you like what you see, the third video will be out August 23.
The new Beetle will be launched at the Volkswagen Das Auto Show from September 7 to 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Register here for tickets.

Saw it at petrol station last tuesday..red and silver color!interior is good..and view from infront looks sporty. cant wait to see the price!
Wait a minute, with this kind of silly meaningless trailer, is volkswagen Malaysia aiming their sales to THIS group of people only? The trailer does not represent the ACTUAL Malaysian society. Say no to Volkswagen

wow, that woman is ugly!
rather disappointed as i am expecting these short films are at least as good as some of the VW commercials / public awareness campaign ads abroad. Those ads are funny and clever at the same time, but I see none of that in those 2 films. Those films are rather typical Malaysian short films, with no surprise.
If I’m not wrong, in the 80s, the VW range had already moved onto the FWD Golf and Passat models, which were introduced in the mid-70s. This TVC only makes sense if the Beetle given was second hand.
a waste of time. this kid needs to make better videos.
amateurish. associating this video with vw simply tarnishes its reputation.
the cheaper myvi’s ‘Lagi Best wowooo’ adv is way above class.
ugly woman, that’s why I choose BMW
the Subaru ad is better ; not an outright copy but probably inspired by or something
