Jalur Gemilang flying on the Monte Carlo podium? Yes, that has come true, thanks to Malaysia’s top racing talent Jazeman Jaafar, who finished third in the third round of the Formula Renault 3.5 World Series over the weekend. Formula Renault was a support race of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, won by Nico Rosberg of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team.
The 20-year old Malaysian, driving his first season in Formula Renault 3.5 after upgrading from the British F3 series, finished behind Nico Müller (International Draco Racing) and Marco Sorensen (Lotus). The result is even more encouraging as this is Jazeman’s first time driving in Monte Carlo.
The Carlin driver qualified on the front row for the first time in the series, but didn’t have a clean start and was passed by Sorensen at turn one. As is usually the case on the streets of Monte Carlo, pole sitter Muller converted his grid position into a victory, claiming his maiden win in the series.
“My start was far from perfect – unlike Marco’s, which was superb. I tried to hold him off but I slipped down into third. I then pushed hard to avoid the threat of Kevin Magnussen. This first podium finish is a good result for me,” Jazeman said.
“It was good preparation for us, we’ve gathered a lot of data and I have a lot of information to help me prepare for my racing debut here. I’ve been to this race as a spectator for the last few years, but it’s a completely different feeling to be racing here,” he added.
Syabas and keep up the good work!

It may be some word of jealously…
But he’s lucky that he came from a rich family or had a good chance to bring him in motorsport….
Ayrton Senna came from a rich family too. What’s your point?
Micheal Schumacher also came from rich family…
Already got go kart track at his house..
Oh I’m sorry that you are poor then…
oh wait a minute…
just because your father could afford to buy you a go kart, doesn’t mean that you could be a champion without working your ass off. It’s called TALENT, noob.
We are slowly starting to produce world class sportsmen and women, now in badminton, squash, motor racing and more soon. I hope there’s proper follow up to identify talents out there and groom them to be the next generation of world class athletes.
Good job Jazeman, keep it up.
Badminton?
Now or Past…
oh my German…
The ‘other’ doesnt care to comment. Try change the title to Proton or something. I’m sure the ‘other’ will come and bashing.
Yes! Thank you Jazeman!
what a waste of rakyat n tax payer money, thats why majority vote for PR. Pakatan Rakyat rules!!
Kalau dah tak suka tu, buat papepun ko tetap bash kan? Dia guna duit bapak dia, duit sponsor petronas. Petronas tu company, bukan gomen. Dan petronas pun bayar tax pada gomen. Cuba ko bagitau aku, berapa banyak telaga minyak Petronas around the world. Nak harapkan kat Malaysia je? Mmg tak cukuplah nak bagi subsidi petrol dan duit BRIM pada ko.
Fakta tetap fakta. Tuduhan awak adalah fitnah dan berunsur menghasut.
Vote PKR?????? Apa yang PKR ada?? Apa yang PKR boleh buat?? NOTHING!!!! Please stop talking about politics. We are talking about motorsports.. Tahniah Jazeman.. Good job for our country….
Padia Alex, jazeman mmg power naik podium, make Malaysian proud!
Hang tu apa Ada? Dok pi perhimpunan, balik je menutuh amoi spa!
u want to be in motorsport, u need to be rich(true for all around the world)… don be jealous, and blame your father for not being rich.
