Aston Martin will be debuting its 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster at the Pebble Beach Automotive Week next week. The open-top follows on the V12 Vantage S Coupe that premiered in May last year.
The Vantage S Roadster is powered by the same AM28 6.0 litre quad cam V12 as found on the Coupe, with 565 hp at 6,750 rpm and 620 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Performance-wise, it does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds, identical to the hard top, but has a marginally slower top speed of 323 km/h to the hard top’s rated 328 km/h.
Like the Coupe, the Roadster will feature a rear, mid-mounted Sportshift III seven-speed automated manual transmission with an electronic shift-by-wire control system. Also on, the three-stage adaptive damping seen on the hard top.
The Vantage S Roadster is due to make its market debut later this year, and when it arrives on the scene will have the honour of being tagged the brand’s fastest as well as the fastest-accelerating series production roadster to date.
