RON 97 petrol price drops to RM2.75 per litre

Ron_97_Malaysian_Fuel_Price_ 001

The price of RON 97 petrol has dropped by 10 sen to RM2.75 per litre. The last alteration was made earlier in June this year – with the earlier price being RM2.85 per litre. The revised price is the cheapest RON 97 has been since September 2013.

Prices of RON 95 and diesel remain at RM2.10 per litre and RM2.00 per litre, respectively. Some of you might be wondering about the constant fluctuation of the price of RON 97 petrol. This is because RON 97 receives minimal subsidisations from the government and thus, is more susceptible to price changes.

The last time RON 95 and diesel prices were altered, it was in September 2013.

Actually I’ve tried using RON 97 on my Picanto and use it for 100% city driving, can’t see any difference to be honest.

Perhaps on long distance travel can the additional benefits of using the higher RON be felt.

Bro, dont spread the hate man, we all are entitled to enjoy good fuel for our cars in this country. Be it myvi to even koenisegg, gtr, slr, lambo and etc. We all want the best we can afford with our hard earn money and right now with 10 sens drop in the 97 is a good thing. Having said that the fuel is expensive still and still i dare say not feasible for alot of people and families in malaysia specially rural places. But like all thing will this too will come to an end. If anyone takenotice on the tesla cars in america, they most surely may smile with a glee in their hearts. It uses pure electricity and and could be charge fast via the powerpoint from your own house. If you need to charge on the go there are huge power station like our petrol station along the main points of their highways and roads to charge. And the best part of it all it is guaranteed to be free for life by tesla boss himself. So virtually free of charge to use without taking in the price of the car.

It will come to our shores soon, making petrol obselete and saving big bucks in our pockets. Sure we will definitely miss the roaring cars of petrol but like anything else in life its time we move forward.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate , hate leads to suffering, we are malaysians, we never fear for anything.

          • I second that superdriver, but other than electric another potential alternative combustion emerged..the hydrogen fuel cells. Hyundai will launch it by next year while Honda and Toyota still in experimenting stage.

The tech combines best of both worlds, the frugality of the electric car and the convenience of the fossil fuels plus its kinda cheap and don’t need to be refill all the time.

I am optimist that we will not use anymore fuel in the near future, but for now I’ll stick to my trusty hybrid.

The new Primax 95 is fine for me.

Want power.. pump BHP.. but Primax 95 feel smoother.

        Personal opinion.

        • For years i have been telling people that BHP gives you power but kills economy. Peers don’t seem to see the difference but thank heavens i’m not alone!

On the topic, why is everyone’s got bunched up on octane rating. Engine’s quieter that’s for sure but that’s it. The only real difference is the super premium V power racing( the real one) because the base fuel for that is of good quality and possibly local.

Yep.. agreed on power kill economy. . That’s why I still prefer Primax 95 on regular basis.. but if I feel want to drive hard.. I pump Bhp.. difference around few litres.. Can’t compromise for the pleasure. 800ppm can feel the difference. . Tend to accelerate. . Rpm up.. cost the economy.

Government still saying giving subsidy 0.71cent on Ron95, right?
Why not remove this subsidy on ron97 so we can get rin97 at rm2.04 that even cheaper than ron95?

No. The additional money is consider as fuel tax, obviously to recoup when the subsidy was higher.

Either way you’re still paying less technically.

Anyone knows how the fuel subsidy works in this country?
Is it money paid to the petroleum companies by the government?
Or tax not collected by the government from the petroleum companies?
