BMW M3 “30 Years M3” – 150 for US market, RM337k

HyperFocal: 0

BMW loves its birthday editions, as demonstrated with the “30 Jahre M5” from a couple of years ago. As the name suggests, this time around it’s the M3’s turn to stake 30 candles into its cake, and the “30 Jahre M3” seen here is based upon the F80 M3 Competition Package.

Only 500 units will be available worldwide, and the United States will receive 150 units, with prices starting from $83,250 (RM337,326) if one goes for the manual variant, or $86,150 (RM349,121) for the M DCT dual-clutch automatic.

As with the Competition Package M3, power from the 3.0 litre twin-turbo straight-six is raised by 19 hp to 450 hp while peak torque remains at 550 Nm. The Adaptive M suspension has also been retuned with new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, while 20-inch Style 666M multi-spoke wheels, similar in design to the M4 GTS, have been fitted.

Harking back to the same optional colour from the E30 M3, the latest M3 comes clad in the 30th anniversary-specific Macao Blue paint job. Completing the list of included goodies are the High Gloss Shadow Line exterior trim (expanded to include black kidney grilles, fender vent accents, door mirrors, tailpipes and model badge), lightweight M sports seats and seat belts with woven-in BMW M strips.

Inside, a full-leather Merino trimmed interior comes in a choice of Black/Fjord Blue or Black/Silverstone, as well as a “30 Years M3” logo incorporated into various places on the car, including the fender vents, door sill plates and the front seat headrests. All this, plus the exclusivity of being among just 150 Stateside examples, await the owner of the BMW M3 “30 Years M3”.

Can we get this at RM337k? The answer is NO. When it comes here, it will be no less than RM1 million.

We have to thank Jib and his band of thieves for this. They need our car tax money to lead a luxurious life.

Where is najib’s promise to reduce car prices? Najib promised this 3 years ago. Ever since then, car prices are going up and up and up.

Najib should honour his promise to reduce car prices by 30%. This will help the rakyat a lot. RM50k Myvi will then be reduced to RM35k. RM15k savings will help the majority of the rakyat.

The rakyat suffer whilst Big Boss wife got time to rent a private plane for RM98 million to take her whilst there are 5 government private planes ready to take her for free.

Big boss even better, spend RM500 million on a new plane whilst having 5 private planes in the Government hangar personally for him.

We need to pay high car taxes in Malaysia to support their lavish lifestyles.

You are whining on every single Paultan article.

Whilst it is really easy to agree with you on so many points. You fail to realise that the promise was an empty one in the first place, as it can never be done with Proton’s existence and the AP laws still in place.

IF, a big IF here, that Najib did deliver. That all car prices do decrease by 30% without changing the AP laws and Proton still being in existence. Then rest assure that the prices of everything else will go up including income tax but the median salary will not.

  • The M3 historically is about glorious 2 doors and now they become M4. Then the 4 doors celebrate the 30 years M3. Seems wierd.
