TAS2019: Suzuki Jimny Little G and Little D by DAMD

The Suzuki Jimny is currently the darling of tuning companies, with plenty of modifications being made available for the spritely off-roader. Japan’s DAMD is among those with their own takes on the Jimny, and has displayed two of its creations at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon.

First up, there’s the “Little G” conversion kit, which converts the Jimny to look more like a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. With the kit, you get new bumpers, squared off wheel arches, headlamp housings and even an AMG-style twin-louvre front grille.

More details to complete the look can be found at the side-exit exhausts, side steps and a redesigned spare wheel cover. A few company logos complete the look, and the end product is rather convincing and appealing, to say the least.

If Mercedes’ luxury off-roader isn’t your cup of tea, perhaps the “Little D” package is more your taste. While the name is a tad bit curious, what you’re getting is the look of the Land Rover Defender imprinted onto the Jimny.

As with the earlier kit, the Little D gets a humped bonnet with ‘LITTLE:D’ lettering just above the new grille, front bumper with integrated fog lights, headlamp clusters, and a beefier rear bumper with individual bulb elements to replace the taillights. The generous use of rivets is another nod to the Defender, as are the mud flaps and off-road tyres.
