Above design, derived from Lotus APX whereas the below, Wish.
If actual MPV really like this and potentially decent engine with acceptable FC, people we’ll waiting a Proton empivee.
April 30, 2008 @ 1:49 am
why everyone thinks that it will look like APX?
April 30, 2008 @ 7:01 am
A Caldina with a slapped Proton badged. Everyone here look want to glamour.
April 30, 2008 @ 8:06 am
On a business meeting last week, I met with a Proton supplier which has JV with a Japanese parts manufacturer. Since the company has been appointed by Proton to supply some parts for the Proton MPV, I’ve managed to ‘korek’ info from them.
1) The engine will be 1.6L Campro, tuned for high performance to support the extra chassis weight. Not sure whether its Campro CPS VIM or Campro IAFM.
2) The design of the body is definitely ‘Toyota Wish’ inspired. But it will be shorter than the Wish.
3) Total production of 65,000 per annum. A third of the sales will go to export markets; Thailand, China and Indon.
4) Official launching date on 2nd Quarter 2009.
April 30, 2008 @ 8:21 am
normaluser, thats what my friend told me. his friend is one of the proton staff… wish inspired body, launch in early next year….. but he told me the engine would be 1.8… maybe 1.8 is for hi line?
April 30, 2008 @ 8:22 am
good info normaluser..thank you
April 30, 2008 @ 9:07 am
yup…CamPro 1.6 CPS will be fitted in new proton MPV.It was fitted in Toyota Wish (previous post revealed Toyota Wish with Proton steering) and it was tested to climb the Genting Highland.
April 30, 2008 @ 9:29 am
good lookin thingy…thumbs UP..
April 30, 2008 @ 10:13 am
I thought everyone have done with Lotus APX shadow on their car. I hav to reconsider again. And the image of car looks too fictional or cartoonish or whatever need to look more real.
April 30, 2008 @ 10:43 am
Wow… sure like Goreng Pisang panas loh if mcm both of the pix.
-shorter wheel base- pls not Proton, last week i have to seat at the back (6th & 7th) of Citra to go for my Friday pray. Feels like a PATI (Pendatang Asing Tanpa Izin) oledi. Imagine if Proton make the MPV shorter wheelbase. Sakit pingang woOo.~
April 30, 2008 @ 10:52 am
vector art, woooo!! not bad bro
April 30, 2008 @ 11:41 am
Looks good…but no headroom for backseat passengers…
April 30, 2008 @ 11:44 am
7 seater for adult
April 30, 2008 @ 1:35 pm
Nah, I say 5 seater adult, last row for kids. Let’s bet.. APX design cues looks good on our MPV, right? Why not use it, we own the design copyright, erm, right? At least this time let Lotus Design have full control on exterior development. Proton Design team can start work on other projects….
April 30, 2008 @ 3:07 pm
i love APX design and good job on the wallpapers Zarul. They look nice
April 30, 2008 @ 3:38 pm
Hope proton MPV can seat 7 adult and suitable luggage space.
Also a reasonable price.
April 30, 2008 @ 4:53 pm
wt 1.6/1.8 engine…most prob a mini mpv, smaller wish lookalike the size of Grand Livina….
hopefully p1 will later consider a real proper adult size 7 seaters mpv/minivan the size or c8/entourage/sedona/RIA/alphard/odc (US odc not our small odc) but they need to develop a big cc engine (2.0 above but preferably a diesel wt high low rpm torque to move the weight) 1st….
April 30, 2008 @ 5:11 pm
Its may look like a mitsubishi grandis.
April 30, 2008 @ 5:12 pm
And not refering to APX at all
April 30, 2008 @ 7:43 pm
Lotus APX is a good base. Shorter than the Wish? this is a 7 seater right? or is it 5 seaters with just a big space at the back?
April 30, 2008 @ 10:18 pm
isn’t this the lotus APX or something?
April 30, 2008 @ 10:35 pm
mystvearn - that was the thing that i’m afraid about. proton make a 5-seater mpv.
mohdjiman - Yeah, the apx do looks like grandis. grandis coOL too… i like it a lot. ;-}
April 30, 2008 @ 10:44 pm
Oo thanks man, this looks trendy for our zen generation.
April 30, 2008 @ 11:00 pm
please not use diesel la. heard somewhere govt gonna stop subsidies diesel in near time
May 1, 2008 @ 12:15 am
Well, no matter how good the design of the car it is still Proton. I experience Proton QC, Materials is the main problem to Proton. Of coz Services Centre as well…
Improve on that then Proton improve
May 2, 2008 @ 9:43 am
info yg saya dapat besar lebih kurang wish..
Tinggi 165 cm..
Panjang 440cm…(x masuk bumper)
May 2, 2008 @ 10:24 am
JaeJun.
material or parts?
May 2, 2008 @ 11:47 am
In term of design, i think Proton has done a good job but the parts quality and campro engine is a failure. This compro engine is rough and high fuel consumption make u think twice before you put your hard earn money to Proton. Please think again if using the campro engine + mitsu gear box. Are they reliable as the VVTI / DVVT?
May 2, 2008 @ 12:16 pm
CamPro CPS is a failure? or CamPro IAFM? Or Old CamPro?which one? Rough and High fuel consumption? compared to what engine? Are VVTi / DVVT really reliable?
May 2, 2008 @ 1:16 pm
Please go and try the 1.3 DVVT Myvi and the 1.3 IAFM from BLM then you should able to notice how rough the engine and how slow in pick up.
And also try the 1.5 VVTI vios engine and compared to the best 1.6 engine from proton then you should be able to do a judgement.
and also please go around the world and ask how reliable VVTI engine as compared to campro engine.
You should get the answer. if not, tell us what so good about the “Proton” campro engine. I will upgrade to proton if u r able to list down the “good” campro engine.
I’m waiting to hear from you.
May 2, 2008 @ 2:31 pm
im asking…it seems that u are well known.so tell us more.im not asking u to buy proton here.
May 2, 2008 @ 2:40 pm
asking also cannot ah here?
May 2, 2008 @ 6:29 pm
trust me… it will be 1.8 campro CPS engine in the new P1 MPV…. cheers…
May 2, 2008 @ 6:32 pm
trust me….. its will be1.8 campro CPS instead of 1.6 campro CPS in the new P1 MPV……..
May 3, 2008 @ 11:35 pm
Proud of p1…..produce more quality car…..
May 12, 2008 @ 12:20 pm
