2009 Acura TL initial details and photos revealed

2009 Acura TL

The mid-sized Acura TL sedan receives a full model change for the 2009 model year. As you can see from the photos, the approach that Acura has taken with the fourth generation TL is far from conservative. It looks very decidedly Japanese and I’d expect such a production design to come out of Mazda’s design studios.

The 2009 Acura TL will come in either front wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. The AWD system is Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system which can split torque in an optimum ratio between the front and rear axles and also the rear left and rear right wheels.

The suspension rides on double wishbones at the front and multilink at the rear. Engine options will consist of the J-Series 3.5 liter SOHC V6 producing 280hp and 345Nm of torque, and a more powerful 3.7 liter V6 producing 305hp and 373Nm of torque.

Look after the jump for a low-res photo gallery. Hi-res photos and full details to come later.

Looks like Acura/Honda went to MTV’s ‘Pimp My Ride’ producers and designed this car.

Bling and trashy. Simplified the grille and bumper and it should be fine.

I have a feeling this car will fit right in the next Transformer movie.

I actually like the looks of it.
The interior is hideous though. Seems like the designers loved sea’s of gray. How boring and….BORING………………

with comments like this, looks like acura has definitely got the perfect product for their target market, considering they only sell it to americans/canadians.

why cars are turning into Boats despite the futuristic design. its looks so ready to float!
Example the new Accord., they should make asses more like Persona nice to look n smack it.

    Got Start/Stop Ingnition Button….
    Nice… But I’ll pass

this car is the geeks’ heaven.. honda cars are always equipped with latest tech to the brim, and the looks certainly divides opinions. BUT please don’t say that persona is better looking than accord (from any angle).. it’s way out of your league man! personally, persona is a good car.. for a proton!

It’s not that bad but it’s not that very ‘handsome’ either. It does looks odd from the front. Still, I’ll prefer this than our’s Accord though.
