Proton’s Thailand distributor Phranakorn Auto Sales has managed to chalk up sales of over 1,000 cars since Proton’s debut at the 2007 Thailand International Motor Expo two weeks ago. 50% of sales consisted of the Proton Savvy, while the remainder consisted of 28% GEN2 and 22% Satria Neo.
Phranakorn was only expecting between 700 to 800 unit sales, so this good response came as a surprise to them. Phranakorn currently has 6 outlets in Bangkok and 8 more in other provinces. This will be expanded to 20 initially, and up to 40 outlets within the next 4 years. Phranakorn targets 3,000 units a year of combined Proton car sales for its first year in operation.
The Thai Motor Expo was also used to unveil for the first time the facelifted Proton GEN2 (shown above), which in HL trim has the new Campro CPS engine.
