Ferrari S.P.A. filed a trademark application back in late 2006 which may give us a clue to the name of the new Ferrari GT car. The registration for the name FERRARI GT CALIFORNIA was approved in the US sometime in February this year.
Some other new bits of unconfirmed info – according to a report by US magazine AutoWeek, the engine mounted at the front of the new F149 will be a 4.3 litre V8 based on the F430 engine’s block, but will feature direct injection, a new throttle body, new intake designs, new cylinder head designs, and a new valvetrain.
This should be exciting for those who love to take in technical bits of info about engines, and a contender for next year’s International Engine of The Year awards.

anyting related to america nowadays is a turn off n jus turns ppl away….
y does it hav to relate to a certain city….unless its meant to sell mostly in US
Sound like the old AD Resort California. Arnold Scwzenegger will be happy enough.
I dont expect Ferrari to use American names. At least if they use German names, it would be better. Even American muscle cars don’t use US state/capital name.
Yes, there are family cars using American city/park names, but those are family cars/MPV/SUV (Chevy Malibu/Colorado, Hyundai Santa Fe/Tucson, Kia Sedona, Toyota Sequoia, Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Dakota/Durango, GMC Yukon). Murano, Sorento, Monte Carlo & Milan are nice model names named after Italian places, and these names have been used for Nissan, Kia, Chevy & Mercury.
But, Ferrari have used American name before, for its 575 Maranello model named as Ferrari Superamerica; which I think is an ugly name.
What? everyone forgot about the Ferrari Daytona?
Say whatever you like, Ferrari’s has a very large market in the US…if not the largest.
Ferrari used to have the Daytona… so using US names isn’t new to them… I think it sounds fine, but I’d prefer it to be Dino 2.0 :p
paul, the picture is actually up already on the website (in case u didnt notice it).
Go to the downloads section and voila, they forgot to disable the link i think LOL. So much for the teaser
Yeah the Daytona. Almost forgot
