If you’ve been at the foyer of the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas very recently, you’ve probably walked under the F1 display, where two Mercedes AMG Petronas racecars can be seen sitting suspended on a structure. It’s all part of the comms and promo activities for the upcoming 2012 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix.
The Suspended Formula 1 Cars Project, to give the display its name, has the two F1 cars mounted on a custom-built steel-frame structure. It took a team of 20 engineers and technicians exactly 14 days to fabricate, test and install it.
Check out the video by Petronas Motorsports on how the team got the cars up there. The display will remain in the lobby of the company’s concert hall for the duration of the 2012 F1 season, so be sure to keep an eye out for it the next time you’re thereabouts.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
is it really necessary?or just to waste the money granting for the approval?
Why not? I think it is a good marketing strategy for the upcoming Malaysian F1 GP.
why waste money on “suspending” two none-performing F-1 car. just put it on the ground then anyone can see it better. btw, it is not that a big deal to hang 2x600kg at 8 feet high, any ah peng can do that….
if any ah peng can do that., then why didnt anybody do it before? must be ah peng stupid lo, can only talk loud. no taste in art, that’s why u just bark and bark
No resolution photos? Really loves to see the design up close…
None were sent in with the release, but the PR company is attempting to get some to us.
New photos arrived, and are up.
Thanks…
Thanks…:)
It is a good initiative by Petronas, but I do not see the reason for this. People wants to see the details on the F1 car, not its undercarriage… It would make more sense if they provide a platform for viewers to stand and be at height with the cars, rather than asking people to look from afar as suggested by the photograph. Besides, they could have cut some cost on the scaffolding by removing the heavy engine and just leave the shell on display for this purpose.
they have one in petrosains.. and they’ve done it looooooooong time already….
why are they using the old F1 cars??new ones too ugly?
