Infiniti Q60 Concept teased ahead of Detroit debut

Teased ahead of its debut at the North America International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next month is the Infiniti Q60 Concept – a dimly-lit photo of the Q50-based coupé has been released, providing a small glimpse of the new car’s silhouette.

Although very little can actually be seen from the picture, it is clear that the Q60 will have a far lower and sleeker roofline than its sedan sibling, while the C-pillar features a more dramatic crescent-shaped kink. There also appears to be cutouts aft of the front wheels, not unlike those seen on the Q50 Eau Rouge concept. The strong haunches above the wheel arches look to have been retained.

Infiniti design chief Alfonso Albaisa said last month that the concept will be “very, very close to the next Q60.” The production car will likely keep the Q50’s controversial steer-by-wire system, as well as its range of 2.0 litre turbo petrol, 2.1 litre turbodiesel, 3.7 litre naturally-aspirated petrol and 3.5 litre hybrid powertrains. Maybe even a 568 PS twin-turbo, four-wheel drive Eau Rouge model if we ask nicely?
