Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster launched

Lamborghini has unveiled the new Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster. Wraps were taken off the topless sister of the Aventador SV at the 2015 Monterey Car week in California. The first series produced open top Lambo to carry the SV badge, it is limited to 500 units worldwide. That’s 100 units less than the hardtop’s run.

The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

Like the coupe, the LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster combines lower weight with increased power. The Aventador’s 6.5 litre naturally-aspirated V12 gets a 50 hp boost to 750 hp (690 Nm remains), but this car, at 1,575 kg, is 50 kg lighter than the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster. 0-100 km/h happens in just 2.9 seconds, and top speed is more than 350 km/h.

As with the “regular” Aventador, Lamborghini’s seven-speed ISR transmission moves power to all four wheels through a Haldex Generation IV 4WD system. Like the SV coupe, this car comes with adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension, a pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) for improved dynamics.

Aventador Roadsters come with a two-piece carbon fibre roof featuring technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite, which deliver a perfect surface finish and the highest possible component stiffness combined with low weight. The two roof parts each weigh less than six kg and can be stowed easily in the luggage compartment. Here, there’s power rear window if you want to hear more of the V12’s singing.

Deliveries of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster will start in early 2016 with a base price of 357,000 euros (RM1,626,854), excluding taxes. In April, we got up close with the Aventador SV Coupe in Singapore. Malaysia was allocated five units of the limited edition coupe, and all have been spoken for. We predict the same demand for the Roadster.
