For those who love the outdoors, having a vehicle that can fit your active lifestyle is key to a rewarding experience all round. Opel and Vauxhall‘s Vivaro Surf Concept aims to do just that. To be showcased in Frankfurt, this lifestyle version of the commercial vehicle is ideal for sporting activities and can accommodate up to six passengers along with sports and fitness equipment.
It’s roomy, with a separate cargo area of 3,200 litres, or 4,000 litres for the longer wheelbase version. The cargo area has a total permissible weight of up to one tonne; making it perfect for skiing or snowboard equipment, surfboards or bikes.
The floor is fitted with a newly-developed rail system, and the entire width under the second row of seats is used for a storage box that can hold small items. Specialists from Snoeks Automotive fitted the interior with blue lighting in the sidewalls and roof liner as well. There is also a surfboard bracket on the roof.
The Vivaro Surf is a real eye-catcher with its shiny copper-brown paintwork. The customised Irmscher alloys complete the look.
Powered by a 1.6 litre CDTi BiTurbo engine, it churns out 140 PS and 340 Nm of torque. The ecoFLEX version with Start/Stop achieves fuel consumption of 6.1 litres per 100 km. Additional comfort is provided via the air suspension at the rear axle, and the shortened springs also reduce the vehicle’s height by around seven cm to 1.80 metres.
“The Vivaro Surf Concept is the ideal vehicle for large families or groups of friends. It is the perfect alternative for people who need more than a passenger car but do not want to miss out on the usual comfort,” said Steffen Raschig, Vauxhall/Opel director of commercial vehicles. It could soon go into production as a limited edition model.

Just what happened to Opel Vauxhall these days… design so not original. The tourer car they released few days ago was a Merc + BMW. Now this is a 95% Merc V Class.
