Sprint Expressway toll rates to go up on October 15 – Kerinchi Link, Penchala Link and Damansara Link

KERINCHI-LINK

The toll hike announcements continue, and one of the 17 highways that have seen an increase in toll rate charges is the Western KL Traffic Dispersal Link System, better known as the Sprint. Highway concessionaire Sistem Penyuraian Trafik Kuala Lumpur Barat has announced that toll charges for the three road sections that make up the expressway network are set to go up on October 15.

Following the increase, Class 1 users will have to pay RM2 at the Damansara toll plaza on the Damansara Link (currently RM1, which doubles the existing rate) and RM2.50 at the Pantai toll plaza on the Kerinchi Link (currently RM1.50, making for an increase of RM1).

The third toll plaza on the Sprint is the Plaza Bukit Kiara toll plaza, which sits on a 5.5 km route linking the LDP to Mont Kiara and is better known to road users as the Penchala Link. The new toll rate will be RM3 (presently, RM2).

The E23 is a 26.5 km-long route considered as a major arterial road system in the Klang Valley, and is divided into three sections, the aforementioned Kerinchi Link, Penchala Link and the Damansara Link, a 9.5 km-long section that begins from Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara and ends at the Jalan Duta-Semantan interchange.

  • Now that’s 50%-100% increase for the 3 busy tolls… Before some dumb wits starting to say “don’t use tollway”…. Think of the congested roads that you have to use to get to work or home everyday…

What happened to the promise of decreasing toll rates from BN? Bankrupt the country then make the rakyat pay for it.

Wow. Great news. Why not rename the highway as well like how the lrt is doing to their stations? Sell the naming rights to some money mongering company to promote their brands so maybe they can change the name of these highways or toll plazas to something more suited to the condition. SPRINT is a losuy name la, always jam and with 60-70 km/h speed limit at certain part how to “sprint” la! Change it to “Overpriced Highway” or “Redundant Highway” or “Rip-Off Highway” ma. Bagus !

I thought yesterday the announcement not involve Sprint but who knows they are just “late announcement” only, same goes to LDP also with new toll rate.

In this case we could expect all tolls in KL or Selangor increase which bring trouble to citizens and businesses as well.

Thank you Government bringing great burden to all who live in KL and Selangor.

This is insane!! The people are already suffering, why add to that by imposing absurdly hight increments? And why must it be done by practically all the toll operators at the same time?? This gov’t has failed us again and again. The common people are in despair, while the farkers in positions of power and their cronies continue to bleed the country of whatever $$ is left in gov’t coffers. Everything has a tipping point, matter of time before this country’s is reached.

Does everyone realised that the toll hikes are all bordering the Selangor-KL and Selangor areas ???
