After having been discontinued for 11 years now, Chevrolet is set to bring back the Cavalier name on a new model. This time round, though, the model won’t be available in the US, but will instead be a China-only model, according to Car and Driver.
The new Chevrolet Cavalier will be positioned below the Chevrolet Cruze, and will be 114 mm shorter with a 99 mm narrower wheelbase. Design-wise, well, it resembles the Cruze in terms of its overall styling, except that it sports a different set of headlamps and tailamps.
As for power, the Cavalier will be equipped with a naturally-aspirated 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine that produces 107 hp. The sedan is expected to be offered with a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.
Apparently, rumours have it that the decision to revive the name was triggered as a response to Ford bringing back the Escort moniker in China. In any case, the Cavalier is expected to go on sale in China in the second half of 2016.

OMG. Now that brings back memories of a badly built, unrefined econobox.
Whats next? Are they going to bring back the Pontiac Sunfire as well?
