A new traffic flow system was supposed to have begun along Jalan Kemajuan Subang from today morning, but has been shelved for the time being. The system – which was also temporarily shelved a few months ago – was slated to begin from 7 am this morning, according to the Subang Jaya community newspaper SJ Echo.

The new traffic flow covers the Persiaran Kewajipan-Jalan Kemajuan Subang junction (near the Mesiniaga junction) right up to the Persiaran Jengka-Jalan Kemajuan Subang junction. It was initially reported that the U-turn at the divider in front of Subang Parade would be open from this morning, while the Jalan Kemajuan-SS16/2 junction would be permanently closed from 10 am onwards.

With the system in place, vehicles coming from Mesiniaga along Jalan Kemajuan will not be able to turn right into Jalan SS16/2 following the junction’s closure. Likewise, vehicles coming from Jalan SS16/2 will no longer be able to turn to Jalan Kemajuan towards Subang Parade.

However, The Star reports that the system has been scrapped temporarily, with the U-turn – which was closed for improvement works – re-opened at 7.30 am this morning. Without indicating a timeframe for deployment, Subang Jaya Municipal Council corporate communication officer Muhammad Azli Miswan told reporters that the system will be implemented in stages to ensure motorists become familiar with the flow.

The new traffic system is aimed at ensuring better traffic flow in front of Aeon Big hypermarket, with Jalan Kemajuan effectively being turned into a loop. It was earlier reported that strict enforcement had been planned against motorists who indiscriminately park along the road to ensure there was less traffic congestion, especially along the front of Subang Parade.
