If you enjoyed the Volvo Trucks vs Koenigsegg video from 2014, the Swedish automaker is back with another video for your entertainment. This time, the company rolled out its most extreme machines – the S60 Polestar TC1 race car and The Iron Knight.

The latter, if you recall, is a massive 4.5-tonne truck that packs a 12.8 litre turbo diesel engine that develops 2,400 hp and 6,000 Nm. It recently set two FIA world land speed records – hitting an average of 131.29 km/h in the 500 and 169 km/h in the 1,000 metre standing-start categories.

Meanwhile, representing the car is Volvo’s entry in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), which will lose in a game of top trumps against the truck. The Polestar race car packs a modest 1.6 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 400 hp and 470 Nm, propelling just 1,100 kg of weight, and recently had a victorious outing in Shanghai, China.

In any case, Volvo saw it fit to pit both truck and car against one another, and kicking things off is a standard quarter-mile (402 metres) drag race. Upholding the honour of The Iron Knight is the man responsible for said records, Boije Ovebrink, while works driver Thed Bjork is behind the wheel of the S60. With both vehicles having exactly the same 0-100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds, guess who wins?

After the first challenge, which we won’t spoil the results, a full lap of the wet Mantorp track in Sweden is up next. This time, the truck is given a head start before the S60 sets off in hot pursuit but you’ll have to watch the video to see which crosses the finish line first.

According to Volvo, the purpose of the video is to showcase the world class engineering that the company stands for. Alternatively, it is also a wonderful way to spend 3 minutes and 52 seconds in your day.
