VIDEO: Lorry drives on opposite lane, meets police car

Now here’s something different, sent to us by reader Tan Wei Shen. Yes, it’s yet another video of a vehicle driving on the opposite lane here in Malaysia – seems to be a trend recently – but this time, a police car also happened to be at the scene!

This incident on Jalan Kewajipan, USJ Subang was originally posted on March 4, but has yet to go viral since. Thankfully though, no one appeared to have been hurt by the lorry driver’s inexplicable action. It did, however, cause a big traffic jam, by the looks of it.

As a reminder, One can never be too careful these days, even when innocently driving on the correct side. We’ll have to be alert, to be able to swiftly move out of the way when faced (literally) with these “lawan arus” drivers. Drive safe.

You guys didnt even know the whole story , then you guys start judging the lorry is going opposite because the lorry break system was failed and there are traffic jam in front ,if the drive didnt switch lane he will collide into the car in front . This is what the truth is . Why i know ? because the lorry is under my company , so stop judging without knowing the whold story

Lorry with a failed brake system. Why is still trying to move only stopping when police come by. We judge your company as being an asshole company with poorly trained drivers.

Now, the bigger question would be…. how could the brake system failed? I believe it has to undergo periodical check-up with Puspakom and as far as I know Puspakom is quite strict when it comes to the brake.

So what?? That lorry can drove opposite way? Then.. when there are traffic jam in front, we can take the opposite way la? So selfish.. why the lorry have brake failure when it was on road.. why your company did not check before it operate? Should you just do whatever you want just because you fail to control the maintenance of your lorry? Please learn how to operate your company before you let it operate and make sure you are not the one who give trouble to community..

It is not a valid reason to drive in opposite lane. It is definitely much more dangerous than hitting behind of the car if the brake really in failure case. Else the driver can choose to hit the divider then. You should think how to prevent this incident from now onward rather than bombard others. We should keep Malaysia a safe place together, at least on the road…

What kind of answer is this?..you got a failed brake system..so just simply drive the opposite way which is more dangerous to other road users?..your explanations even a school kids can argue.

      • Helo jesus.. why no talk2 big2 somemore? Need u to explain that! If the brake already out what gives the driver permission to drive on the other side of the road? I wondered what company are u working with? Very unethical..

Brake failure is not a valid excuse to drive on the opposite side of the road. What kind if mentality is this? It is because there are so many irresponsible people like you running the companies that there are so many lorries with brake failures on the road.Your company should be shut down, the lorry confiscated & scrap & people like you should be put in jail for using immitation or low quality components on the lorry or fail to maintain the lorry properly & endangering the lives of other road users. You do not have a valid reason to defend your company.

Wow! Braking system failed. Better crash head-on rather than back-end. Idiots supports idiots.

  • taking drugs/alcohol or not, is another aspect of driving dangerously

driving against the traffic is already wrong whether you are talking about teenage oku girl under drug influence or this truck driver (aku besar, tak takut) or MAT REMPIT (mai langgar aku, nahas kau nanti satu geng aku hentam kau)

That is the reason German authority is not accepting my Malaysian driving license to convert to German driving license; I must need to give full exam like a beginners to get it. But for Singapore driving license, it is allow to convert to German driving license without any single exam.

  • So even if the lorry’s braking system failed, the policemen shall stop and help to divert and control the traffic instead of straight leaving the scene.

All I could say is we all Malaysian should start Thinking and Do the right way. Stop being Greedy, selfish and ignorant. The driver should STOP immediately or park his vehicle on the safe side of the road rather than keep on driving. As owner of the company should takes responsible action and not penalise the driver. Its ur desicion that is the root cause. If the driver make the wrong desicion then it is still ur mgmt fault for not trained them to be a responsible driver. Sendiri Mau Ingat la.

Are we all just going to ignore that the police car just drove past the lori without even investigating the situation, taking the driver in for processing or guiding traffic around the lori?

  • The authority should play a more active role in curbing our drivers selfish attitude and a more severe punishment should be imposed. And most importantly, our enforcement oficers should be seen around not only during “operasi” cause on many times you can drive all the way for Johor to Perlis without encountering any enforcement agency people..takkan semua menyorok dlm semak nak tgkp speeding je..

Jesus ….If your company lorry brake system is faulty …it should be towed not continue driving. Just my point of view. It is so reckless to keep on moving. What make matter worse it is moving on the opposite direction. It doesn’t make sense when you defended it. Your justification is not logic at all.

To be safe, right lane is for ‘memotong’ kereta only. Then back to middle or left lane before ‘kena potong’ completely.
