The new Shelby Baja Raptor isn’t just all show and no go, as this promotional video from Shelby American shows us. Based on the latest Ford F-150 Raptor, the Baja Raptor is fitted with plenty of kit to ensure flying off sand dunes and making hard landings are an easy affair.
For starters, there’s a three-inch lift kit to accommodate the 18-inch alloy wheels and 35-inch BFGoodrich KM2 off-road tyres. The pick-up truck also comes with fully-adjustable Fox Racing Stage 2 suspension that can be adapted for on- or off-road terrain with a tool-free adjustment.
Under the bonnet, the 3.5 litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 has been tuned to deliver 525 hp and 827 Nm of torque, which is 75 hp and 135 Nm more than the stock motor. The power hike is courtesy of a custom cold-air intake with a high-flow air filter, together with a performance aluminium intercooler.
As for looking the part, the Baja Raptor features a functional ram air bonnet, unique bumpers and skid plates, a rack to hold full-size spare tyres, automatic running boards and LED light bars. The interior features embroidered leather seats, plenty of Shelby badging and a numbered serial plate.
Only 500 units of the Baja Raptor will be made for the 2018 model year and pricing starts at US$117,460 (RM495,270). Alternatively, if you have a 2017 model year Raptor, you can send it to Shelby via a dealer and pay the conversion price of just US$49,295 (RM207,852).

Amazing. From a 3.5 they can squeeze out 525bhp and 827 nm. This is what you call research. Shelby engineers work hard. They just dont go to office and shake leg. They work hard to make their products even better
The Hennessey Raptor has 605 hp / 843 Nm and costs only US$22,500 to convert. Yeah, your hardworking Shelby is overpriced.
