Trains on the MRT Kajang Line are getting a women’s coach, which as its name suggests, is reserved for women – men are not allowed.
Rapid KL says that sticker installation and operational testing for the women’s coach on the MRT Kajang Line is currently underway and is expected to be completed by September 17. The images shared show pink-marked gates with the female emblem, as well as pink stickers on the floor and gantry. Visibility wise, it’s pretty obvious.
What do you think of women’s coaches on public transport? My two cents is that while the idea behind women-only coaches is good, it must be enforced, and not just by not allowing men into the reserved coaches, but the other way around too – women must use their reserved coach and not just jump into any coach, making it more packed for everyone else, who have one less coach to begin with.
Ladies, would you feel the pressure to separate from your partner or family to go into the women’s coach? I guess no one would begrudge a lady with her family and kids in the normal coach, but how about couples? Single ladies, remember that you now have your own safe space, so use it.

Those who complain about this women’s only coach most probably do not mind about women being disturbed/groped/molested by sexual perverts/predators, or probably they are the sexual perverts/predators or sex criminal offenders themselves.

Separate cinema halls for women. Separate mall also can. Everything separate. We must appease the green people, if not later everything is other people’s fault. Ride car also must separate. Also, pink grab for ladies only. GLC for ladies only also brilliant. Apartment complex for female only also good. Why not open a new city only for women inhabitants? The list is endless!

have u ride the public transport during peak hour? the move is okay if they separate only women and only men coach. no mix coach. now you have women only coach and mixed coach and it will create more problem. just reduce the waiting time from 5 minute to 1 minute with 4 coach.
It’s so stupid, especially when it’s at the early morning rush hour. Already super crowded, but still want to limit the cars for man. Jungle mindset.

Yes, just increase the frequency of the trains during peak hours. The male female segregation issue is more relevant to KTM lines as average travelling times on these trains are more than 30 minutes.
Tbh, it seems pretty reasonable for some people, but for me, I rather stick with my friends, with my brother, rather than be in a lane with just women or people I don’t know. It can work best during the rush hour, but no one seems to care who they’re crushed into in the train. I don’t like this
