The Honda HR-V has received minor updates in the United States to ensure it remains the most popular SUV among first-time and Gen Z buyers as well as the number one subcompact SUV chosen by Hispanic buyers – this was stated in the company’s official release.
Unlike the global HR-V we have here, which is a B-segment SUV, the version sold in the US looks completely different and is larger in size. Also known as the ZR-V in certain markets, the US-market HR-V was introduced in 2023 and shares its underpinnings with the current Civic.
For the 2026 model year, the HR-V will be offered in LX, Sport and EX-L trims, with the LX and EX-L gaining a new Solar Reflection Metallic paint finish. Meanwhile, Sport models can be had in a new Boost Blue Pearl and it gains black badging on the tailgate. Beyond these changes, the rest of the car looks pretty much identical to the previous model year.
Inside, the HR-V gets a new nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, mirroring the update applied to the 2026 CR-V. The system is two inches larger than the pre-update model and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Elsewhere, privacy rear glass now comes standard across the range, with the top EX-L trim gaining silver steering wheel spokes, dynamic climate control knob lighting (red, blue and white) and new front footwell lighting.
All trims come with a 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine making 158 hp at 6,500 rpm and 187 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. The DOHC VTEC (intake) with Dual Variable Timing Control (VTC) mill is paired with a CVT driving the front wheels. Pricing for the HR-V in the US ranges from USD26,200 to USD31,550 (about RM112k to RM134k).
