Verdict
The Perodua Alza X at RM62,500 is the sensible family-MPV buy; the Perodua Alza H costs RM68,000, a RM5,500 step up. Both retain the same 105 hp, 138 Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine, D-CVT, seven seats and 5.3 L/100 km rated economy, so there is no mechanical gain. The H earns its extra outlay through its 9.0-inch touchscreen with six speakers, reverse camera and front parking sensors, plus Matrix Adaptive Driving Beam headlamps. Its safety foundation is unchanged, however, including ASA 3.0 and five-star ASEAN NCAP ratings.
Pick the Perodua Alza X if you want the same 105 hp powertrain, seven-seat layout and ASA 3.0 safety package for RM5,500 less.
Pick the Perodua Alza H if a reverse camera, front parking sensors, 9.0-inch touchscreen and adaptive headlamps matter enough to justify the extra RM5,500.
