Lexus LFA for lease in US and Canada

The 552hp Lexus LFA supercar will be available in North America on a lease basis for at least two years, after which, you can choose to purchase the car. Out of 500 units planned, about 140 are expected to be available in the US and 10 for the Canadian market. This is to prevent the cars from not being driven until they carry more value and subsequently sold. It also to avoid speculators from purchasing the car and selling it immediately for a huge profit.

Lexus’ vice president of sales and dealer development Brian Smith tells it, his company wants “people out driving the car and not just parking it in a museum or selling it at an inflated price.”

But leasing isn’t a new concept in US. They do that with run-of-the-mill cars too.

Toyota is going to lease instead of ownership. Just like Ferrari and their supersports-super performance car..
Toyota have to make sure their car is as good as a Ferrari. If not, it’s not going to work, and make a fool out of themselves.

So, Toyota wants the bigger pie themselves, and they don’t want others to make money from selling/buying of their Lexus.

A smart move or they are too smart for themselves?

Anyway, Toyota is a mass production car company (yep, even with a L logo). It can never compete with Italian supercars, standard or performance or their passion. mush less with the idea of LEASING

Well, the Sultan of Brunei has 5 aircraft hangars worth of collectables which worth more than what he paid for. He is not going to Lease this from Toyota and buy it 2 years later.

Toyota might as well sell it forever to keep prices lower then.

having too high confidence within toyota, i think they are heading for the grave.

price is expensive, and we don’t know how well does it drive. Even then, to be considered in the supercar segment, it must have a secret ingredient, the ‘wow factor’. here, i don’t think it has that yet.

doomed for failure like the honda’s nsx project.

If this had a ferrari badge then the blind bashers will say otherwise.

Only real car lovers will appreciate this car. Not for the badge but the precise
engineering. The car cost so much cos it uses ultra high quality and expensive material. Not bad for 1st attempt and those complaining are sore losers who cant accept the land of the rising sun can compete with Europeans in their own game. When Nissan GTR came out the bashing started without consideriing it potential. Now all shut up………

Learn to accept the differences…….dont critize based on badge value….
look at sum of all component put together…..

The only real letdown of this car is mainly the price, much more expensive than both Ferrari 458 Italia & 599 GTB. Ok, numerous articles mentioned that it is due to the huge investment needed to produce the bespoke carbon fibre chassis. But the price doesn’t really justified, with the V10 engine churns out just slightly more than 550 bhp.

Those upper echelons of supecars have at least 600+bhp at their disposal (Lambo Gallardo,Ferrari 599,Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera…)
