These are the official images of the Honda New Small Concept, which was just unwrapped at the Auto Expo 2010. The production version of this five-seater concept will be launched in India and Thailand by 2011, executive vice president Koichi Kondo said at the Delhi show.
Honda promises a vehicle that is “beyond the expectations of customers in rapidly growing markets and offer it at an affordable price by leveraging Honda’s global parts sourcing network”. The company calls the concept’s design “Efficient Energetic Exterior”.
As reported earlier, the New Small Concept will jointly developed by R&D teams in India and Thailand; both countries will also manufacture the A-segment car. It is rumoured to come with a 1.2-litre engine.

…err…Thailand is part of ASEAN..the production car will be at Thailand by 2011
even the R&D was done by Honda India and Honda Thailand (..of course lead by Japanese leader)…so this car should be a mass production to supply to the India and ASEAN market for a affordable and global small car..

it’ll be great if this comes here.. but as usual.. i wont be suprised if the price hovers around 100K… look at Jazz.. for that size the true value shoud be below 70K for that compact… heck its even smaller than City…with the same engine….. i dunno what kind of mentality sellers have.. car with less metal selling higher…westerners will rather die than to buy a higher priced compact car

Diaz…fact that the jazz is much pricier than the city is due to the import tax..the jazz considered as a import brand and a CBU unit…the actual price is around 52k…

Yes , nano competitors , not everyone is DAT poor in india as expected , alot o nano’s order got canceled cuz d waiting list is long and not everyone is buying the very2 basic model of nano , so…theres a market for small cars..

The problem is Honda cars are known for been very expensive. If it is released in our country, govt will be taxing alot and it will be priced very high. I expect around 90k for this 1.2l engine car. Who will still want to buy? There is new proton waja ( lancer rebadge) to look into around this price. Would u buy this or a proton waja(lancer rebadge)?

Agree with Kodok, this is much better (and modern) looking than Toy’s Etios. Btw people, this car is 4-door larrr, looks closely! The rear door handle is hidden in the C-pillar there. Right Paul?
The new Honda design language clearly can be seen in this car. Somewhre it shares some DNA from Honda Freed.

yup, def 4 door. It seems like a trend to hide the door knob for the back row, chk out Chevy Beat too. Seriously this and Beat having some nice aesthetic design. Can’t wait to see the interior for this Honda New Small!!!!

they can make a killing if the price is 40-50k rm. coz of the the kancil,saga and myvi crowd will love to use it to go pasar tapao milo peng.
