The second generation Perodua Myvi looks like it’s almost ready for launching, with the localised design completed and more of the previous heavy disguise being shed for its on road tests. Reader Shacz spotted this silver unit near Sungai Besi.
The car is still very much identifiable as a Myvi. The rear end gets a resculpted bootlid. There are more significant changes at the front end – the new headlamp shape reminds me of the Toyota iQ. The front grille is relatively large, with a chrome bar at the top. The bumper air intake is also quite large and wide, giving the car a sporty look.

UPDATE: Here’s another set of spypix from Hakimi Asyraf of Nota Kosong – he spotted two units of the new 2011 Myvi refueling at a Petronas station.

Comments on the new Perodua Myvi focus mainly on its appearance, with many expressing disappointment and calling it a facelift rather than a new model, often criticizing the design as unattractive and similar to previous versions. Some viewers note that the car's exterior seems rounded and less appealing, comparing it unfavorably to other hatchbacks like the Honda Jazz or Toyota Passo. There is skepticism about the true improvements, with concerns about the pricing and whether the updates are worth the upgrade. Enthusiasts also speculate about the engine and features, with mixed expectations for the vehicle's performance and value. Overall, sentiments are predominantly negative regarding the design, while a few remain optimistic about its sales potential.
