Mitsubishi Mirage production begins in Thailand – 15,000 orders taken for the compact hatch in the first month

Full-scale production of Mitsubishi’s global compact car, the Mirage, has kicked off in Thailand – the car is being produced at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s third factory at the Laem Chabang Plant, which is the company’s largest plant and export hub outside of Japan.

The car made its debut at the Bangkok Motor Show on March 27, and began selling in the Kingdom the next day, with five variants available for that market, all wearing a 1.2 litre 3A92 three-cylinder MIVEC mill offering 78 PS at 6,000 rpm and 100 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The Mirage has become a hot seller in Thailand since its launch less than a month ago, with more 15,000 orders taken for the little hatch. Japanese sales begin in the summer, and the car is set to be introduced in other ASEAN countries this year – can we expect it to be heading our way?

Tan Chong must bring in the 1.2 litre March . Mitsubishi after sales in Malaysia is crap. Service centre are being outsourced to DRB and other distributor like Federal Auto. Their service centre more akin to a pokok cerry service centre

  • 1.2 for 78ps and 100nm? i can say it’s quite good. Hope to see it in Malaysia soon at rm60K +-range considering the simple car design. 22km/L is amazing.. Proton let’s rebadge it for Savvy!

Suzuki Swift 1.25 with CVT sold for RM47-56k in Thailand. It is overbooked and waiting list is 1 year long. We live with rebadge Myvi and Savvy…NAP is napping for far too long.

Thailand started the eco car program 3 years back, look at the investment by Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Suzuki. Have a look at Indonesia.

P2 cannot even copy and make one car on its own, but it’s the no.1 car manufacturer in Malaysia…let’s celebrate mediocrity. Sorry if I hurt all P2 employees, I am sure you are doing one heck of a job to be No.1, I am not targeting you, but NAP.

I wonder if the person will go to hell by doing the nap thingy, indirectly taking advantages of others, the 9 years loan will indirectly channel to their pocket.
Time will tell for the bad to be punished, still waiting.
