VIDEO: 2015 Mitsubishi Triton VGT walk-around

Ever since we at paultan.org started doing videos, we have been literally inundated with requests to feature pick-up trucks. We finally bring you our first-ever truck video – the start of many to come, I’m sure – and it’s a walk-around video of the latest hauler to launch in Malaysia: the 2015 Mitsubishi Triton.

The top-rung VGT Adventure is our lab specimen, and doesn’t it look a treat. Perhaps it won’t turn as many heads as its predecessor did when it first hit our roads, but the new Triton cuts a figure that would look equally at home in a concrete jungle or a proper jungle.

Exclusive to the Adventure are HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs, striking 17-inch alloys and chunky tubular side steps. Luxuries which are still rare in trucks feature inside, including shift paddles, cruise control leather seats, auto dual-zone air-con and a 6.1-inch touch-screen with reverse camera and Bluetooth.

Under the bonnet sits a 2.5 litre variable-geometry turbodiesel that develops 178 PS and 400 Nm of torque. It’s an improved version of the previous 178 PS/350 Nm DI-D motor, instead of the new 2.4 litre unit with 182 PS, 430 Nm of torque and 20% better efficiency that Thailand gets. In the Adventure, the engine is mated to a five-speed auto.

Nothing like seeing everything move and come to life before your very eyes. Just hit Play and we’ll take you on an in-depth, inside-and-out tour of the 2015 Mitsubishi Triton. Prefer words? Read our exhaustive launch report. Love numbers? See full equipment and specifications on CarBase.my.

While most dream of the future, Jonathan Tan dreams of the past, although he's never been there. Fantasises much too often about cruising down Treacher Road (Jalan Sultan Ismail) in a Triumph Stag that actually works, and hopes this stint here will snap him back to present reality.

The walk around is not bad.. highlighting the pertinent info like the lack of ESC etc..

    However…

The Presenter is trying TOO HARD! He come across as annoying. Pls be more natural… he dont have to talk as if he is in a primary school debate session
