Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has introduced the Mitsubishi Triton VGT Red Peak Limited Edition in conjunction with the launch of the Mitsubishi Red Peak Challenge in Kota Kinabalu.
Based on the latest 2014 Triton VGT facelift, the truck boasts customised Red Peak stickers on its body, and Dakar Rally driver Hiroshi Masuoka’s racing number on its bonnet. It also has matte black 17-inch alloys and new-design leather seats with red accents.
Power continues to come from a VGS-equipped 2.5 litre common-rail turbodiesel engine. 178 PS and 350 Nm of torque are fed to all four wheels through a five-speed auto and Easy Select 4WD.
Limited to 10 units for East Malaysia only, the Red Peak edition is priced at RM114,550 in Sabah and RM114,641 in Sarawak, OTR without insurance (about RM5,000 higher than the regular Triton VGS‘ East Malaysian prices). It comes with either a RM7,000 cash rebate with two years’ free service or a RM9,000 cash rebate.
