Triton in 2026 — what's new
The third-generation Triton gains a new Malaysian option for 2026: the Single Cab AT. It pairs the 2.4-litre diesel with a six-speed automatic and adds reverse sensors plus a rear differential lock. The five-seat GL MT, GL AT, AT Premium and Athlete Enhancement remain in the line-up alongside the manual Single Cab. The Athlete Enhancement uses 201 hp; the other listed variants use 179 hp.

Which variant to buy
Most private buyers should start with the RM116,980 GL AT: it has five seats, AWD and the automatic gearbox for only RM2,000 more than the GL MT. Choose the RM114,980 GL MT if a manual suits the job, or the RM101,980 Single Cab if two seats are enough. The RM145,980 AT Premium carries the same 179 hp as the GL models; on paper, check its equipment list before spending more. Pay RM159,980 for the Athlete Enhancement when its 201 hp matters.

This is a substantial reset rather than a mild update. The Mk3 is 55 mm longer than its predecessor and adopts a square-cut, blockier body with a pronounced nose. Its RM101,980 entry price is RM3,380 above the Nissan Navara’s RM98,600 starting point and RM1,141 below the Isuzu D-MAX’s RM103,121. The manual and automatic spread gives the range breadth, but the AT Premium’s extra spending needs an equipment check.
