The 2.2L 4x2 Auto Plus (RM114,671) suits road work, while the 2.2L 4x4 MT Standard (RM114,171) is the cheaper five-seat AWD route. Verdict
The D-MAX’s broad line-up is its strength: there are single-cab manual and automatic work trucks, a rear-wheel-drive automatic, and five-seat AWD choices with two diesel outputs. The 2.2L’s 1,756-km one-tank run gives fuel-conscious buyers a useful real-world reference point. Its starting price is higher than the Nissan Navara, JMC Vigus Pro and Mitsubishi Triton, so the entry-level D-MAX is not the cheapest way into this class.
