GM recalls over 110,000 crossovers over seatbelts

Cadillac SRX

Now, will this be the last recall to close out 2010? General Motors is recalling 111,136 of its vehicles to rectify the seatbelts in them, and the recall involves 2011 versions of the company’s Theta trio of crossovers, the Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain.

This one sounds pretty serious – GM says that the seat belt buckle anchor for the driver and front passenger may fracture and separate near the seat attachment if the buckle is rotated in a certain way and is subject to peak seat belt loads during a crash, and if separated, the seat belt system would no longer restrain the occupant in a secondary impact. The company said that no crashes or injuries have been reported.

Year 2010 remembered as the year of recall. Millions of cars from various brands found with defects. However, as far as I’m concern, none of the carmakers admitted of their mistake officially and make a public apology. It happened also in Malaysia when a model belong to T brand found with tyre defect and some wire harness problem. They just keep quiet!!!

If Proton recall, have to replace the entire car hahahah.
You blind Proton-fanboys, first and foremost the quality of the recalled cars compared to Proton is light years away.

If Proton was so good, why can’t it even penerate the US market and become a big seller like Koreans or Japanese. It can only enter caplang market…like Iran hahaha.

bro.. you dont know about it, and u cannot simply just said that proton cannot enter US market just bcoz proton was bad.. its all about politics.. like malaysia, US gov also being protective to their brands.. they have theis own marketing strategy.. some brands are success in US, and some brands not.. some other brands success in other country, and some brands not… even mercedes-benz, they wasnt really success in US… its all about politics..

proton also hav their own strategy, why whould they waste time to enter US market while they can perform better in other country?

yes korean are one big seller in US but do they success in japan? thats why u cannot simply compare becoz different country have different scenario in every aspect..

          • Agree with ProProton…

Different market dynamics and heck, even the famed Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Maserati disappeared for a while and just slowly making a comeback in the US.
