Mazda 3S & Tribos Application Centre has claimed on its Facebook page that come April 1, the prices of various Mazda models are set to increase by between RM1,000 and RM10,000.
According to the post, dated March 8, the CX-5 CKD will see a price hike of around RM1,000, the CX-5 facelift 2.5 CBU around RM7,000 and the Mazda 6 facelift 2.5 CBU around RM10,000. The post also mentions pre-GST stock clearance sales.
The immediate assumption is that the price hikes are due to the implementation of GST on April 1, but the latter two models mentioned above – the CX-5 facelift and Mazda 6 facelift – aren’t even launched yet in Malaysia.
