BMW Malaysia has just released a teaser photo on its Facebook page, and it’s time to guess just what this new vehicle may be. From the looks of the grille with its double bar slats, and badge on the upper right hand corner of the grille, it’s quite clear to see that it’s either the BMW X5 M or its “coupe” twin, the X6 M.
The pair share the same powertrain setup – an M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine that makes 567 hp from 6,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 2,200 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Both models have an xDrive Intelligent AWD system with Dynamic Performance Control matched to an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.
The 0-100 km/h sprint in the BMW X5 M and X6 M is completed in exactly 4.0 seconds, while top speed for both models are electronically limited to 250 km/h. BMW quotes a 20% drop in fuel consumption compared to the previous-generation models.
Nothing on pricing yet, of course, but as a reference, the last BMW X6 M carried a RM1,188,800 price tag!

I am shocked. In the US this car is US112k. X5M is US98k. A fresh graduate engineer can earn that amount when he starts work. In 1 year, he can buy this car. No need loan. No need to beg banks.
In Malaysia, fresh graduate engineer still earning RM3k per month. Per year, RM36k. It will take him 30 years of no eating and drinking and pure saving just to buy this car.
BMW Malaysia, why are you ripping Malaysians? X5 biasa only US52k. In Malaysia, it is RM600k. Don’t talk about exchange rate. When exchange rate was 3.2 also, your X5 being sold for RM600k.

I don’t see many ‘true’ X5 M or X6 M on the road but those few who own one are very lucky….
