Game on, Leona Chin! Volkswagen Motorsport driver, Jari-Matti Latvala, has gone on record to accept the former’s invitation to a gymkhana-style showdown that is now set for September 4 at the Setia City Convention Center. The Malaysian drift sensation had earlier on issued the challenge via video to the 14-time rally winner, who is set to swing by Malaysia for a visit.
While Leona herself has been active in the local motorsports scene for some time now, it was a recent viral video that, arguably, made her a household name. In said video, Leona portrayed a mousy learner driver to lull unsuspecting instructors. Upon entering the vehicle however, the instructors were “treated” to a demonstration of her skills as she piloted the car around a car park in a rather spectacular fashion.
So with both parties agreeing to the face-off, all we have to do now is wait for it to take place this coming Friday. Who will you be rooting for – the local talent or Volkswagen’s flying Finn?

All publicity stunts from the VW.

Angmoh will piap her.
It will a good publicity stunt for both. And VW. I am rooting for Leona, of course, but Jari Matti is a works driver. So it will be very close. ANd I bet you the video of the challange will become viral in no time!
A meeting where one driver loves the art of loosing traction and the other one knows how to get all the traction he needed in order to get from A to B the fastest possible way.
The WRC Polo is an All Wheel Drive car… and the standard Polo is a FWD car! It would be interesting to see how….both cars are not built for drifting!
big deal lah…..this is small chicken sheettt matter compared to the 2.6 billion you-know-what plaguing the national economy…
