Upgrading and repair works for the Federal Highway motorcycle lane – costing RM3.13 million – will be completed by December 17. This was reported to the Dewan Rakyat by deputy works minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, in a The Sun Daily article.
According to Rosnah, the upgrade works involved installation of warning signs, repainting of road lines, repairs to street lights and replacing and fixing missing drain covers. She also said that proposals for further upgrade works have been forwarded under the special RM29 million 2017 budget allocation for motorcycle lane works.
Responding to a question by Senator Datuk Koh Chin Wan, Rosnah said, “following the budget allocation for next year, the Public Works Department (JKR) has discussed with all the agencies namely KL City Hall (DBKL), PLUS and SPRINT.” She added that based on plans, physical construction work for the proposed project is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2017.

Hell, it’s about time.
Let’s bet. There still be bike riding on the main road after the repairing. Is the mentality you cannot fix.
“Upgrading” means doing “band-aid” job or proper upgrading? If there are no widening of the lane what’s the use? The amount or riders have increased tremendously over these years but the lane have not seen any major improvement over nearly 30years. Now with big bikers thrown into the mix as well…It would still be dangerous to use the lane…where and how do the faster/bigger biker overtake? Please engage brain before wasting more of the Rakyat’s monies…
oky.. after 17th i’ll be testing the new track.
