VIDEO: Mercedes E-Class Remote Parking Pilot ad

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is certainly a technological tour de force with plenty of features like dual 12.3-inch display screens forming the instrument panel, Drive Pilot, Car-to-X communication and Remote Parking Parking Pilot.

The latter is the focus point of this French commercial for the Estate version of the E-Class. In the 1 minutes 19 seconds spot, we see a kid on a bicycle greeting his neighbour who just returned home, no big deal.

However, things get creepy as more and more children gather to greet the man each time he gets out of his E-Class, making you think that you’re watching an episode of Stranger Things. Why are they doing this? Why do these children keep gathering outside? Is it the car? Are they planning something devious? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Of course, there’s more to the E-Class than just what is shown in the ad, as we found out during our time with the BMW 5 Series rival in Malaysia, as well as in Portugal.

  • Brilliant commercial. Captured a child’s awe nicely.

I’m very sure KRU Studios cannot do anything close to this because their production quality matches the car company they worked with.

  • I always wondering why the hassle to walk down the car, connect your car with the app, and remote park it. Maybe your car porch is too small to open the driver door after parking? but it is an E-class or even the 7 series with remote parking and you should be rich if you own one.

Think bigger….there are other places than your home garage that needs you to do your parking.

The idiot would rather get wet in the rain and play with the remote parking?

This tech only applies if you want to park your car in really tight spots with no cars at both sides or beside another E-class or 7 series with remote park.
Even the smallest of home garages have enough space to park & get down. You will get cursed & receive dents on your car door if you park in tight parking spots with other non remote park enabled cars. Ask yourself, how often do you park in tight public spots with no other cars beside??? Perhaps more applicable for budak valet at Mid Valley to play parking.

  • Looks like Merc is using a phone app for this. I don’t really trust a phone’s connection to control my car unlike BMW’s touch key which has a dead man’s switch on it.
