So, this is pretty self-explanatory. In one corner, we have the Croatian-made Rimac Concept_One looking to take on hypercar royalty – the Bugatti Veyron – in a quarter-mile (402-meter) drag race.
It’s the new-age battle of electricity versus exploding petrol and on paper, the Concept_One should have the Veyron licked. Its four permanent magnet electric motors, one for each wheel, provides up to 1,088 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque, whereas the Veyron’s 8.0 litre quad-turbo W16 engine only serves up 1,001 hp and 1,250 Nm of torque.
We won’t spoil the result of the race, but both all-wheel drive machines finish much closer than you might think. Rimac themselves admit that the conditions for the race wasn’t the best, with temperatures in the negative region (-5 degrees Celsius), hardly ideal for the high-performance tyres.
All we need now is for Rimac to pit its creation against one of the most ludicrous of cars – the Tesla Model S P100D. Recently, Tesla released a software update that introduces a Ludicrous Plus mode, allowing it to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in just 2.4 seconds. Rimac claims its car will do the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.6 seconds, so a race between the two would certainly be interesting, don’t you think?

If defeat veyron then can challenge chiron.
Waste of time chasing 0 to 60. What is more important is safety. Mat Salleh still don’t get it. Globally people now want smaller CC cars and safer cars instead of 8000 cc supercars
Like U said Gerald, it should be Electric v Electric car. Anyway, lets see the rematch next time in proper/suitable condition otherwise its a waste of time when U can’t proclaim who is the winner.
Lets also see a Tesla Model S P100D v Rimac Concept_One if there is one such race. Looking forward 2 it.
My 2 cents, Concept One has it in the bag, both 0-60 and top speed, not to mention looks.
