The Monterey Car Week 2017, which ends with the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, saw Koenigsegg display its latest iteration of the Regera, which showcases the Swedish supercar maker’s new Regera Aero Package.
The Aero Package for the Regera adds new front and rear winglets and a deeper front spoiler. The new rear winglets are designed to complement the top-mounted, fully stowable rear spoiler. The aero pack raises the available downforce on the Regera to 385 kg, compared to 310 kg on the regular Regera, which debut at Geneva last year.
All that downforce is needed when one has three electric motors and one twin-turbocharged 5.0 litre V8 on tap. Those powerplants combine to produce an unbelievable 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm torque. That’s good for making the century sprint in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.6 seconds, 0-300 km/h in 10.9 seconds and 0-400 km/h in 20 seconds. All of that from a car with no transmission, thanks to Koenigsegg Direct Drive.
Beyond the mad figures and gearbox-free direct drive, the Koenigsegg Regera features the world’s first 800V electrical system in a production car, the highest electrical output used in a production hybrid, the first use of a fully robotised body and the first time a vehicle has featured a fully stowable, top-mounted rear spoiler for better aerodynamics.
“We rarely get the opportunity to share so many of our hand-made, artisan performance cars with the public. Monterey Car Week provides us with a wonderful opportunity to bring our cars to the people. Once again, our customer family has been eager to jump on board and make their vehicles available for these events. I hope they enjoy this chance to get together and show their vehicles to an appreciative crowd full of automotive enthusiasts,” Christian von Koenigsegg said.
The Regera on display in Monterey is the first of its model line scheduled for delivery to the US. With such unique tech and high performance, there could be more from the car collectors who prowl Monterey for flashy new metal.

What!!! 0-200 km/h in 6.6 sec, 0-300 km/h in 10.9 sec, 0-400 km/h in 20 sec all this is accomplished without “Transmission”!!!??
How the hell that they do that?? With 3 electric motors & a twin-turbocharged 5.0 litre V8.
How did they keep this Hybrid hypercar stable?? They claim the aero pack raises the available downforce on the Regera to 385 kg.
In a nutshell, this Hypercar by the name of Koenigsegg Regera will be the NEXT hypercar to watch. With the world’s 1st 800V electrical system in a production car & 1,500 hp/2,000 Nm of torque, who is going to argue with Koenigsegg!?
