For Saipol Kamal Nor Izam Mohd Saad, what started out as a routine service of his Perodua Alza turned out to be so much more as he was announced the grand prize winner of the Perodua Service and Win contest. The lucky 33-year-old was handed the keys to a brand new, specially decorated Axia G today.

A total of 90 prizes were given to winners of the competition. The winners were selected randomly via a software programme to ensure that no favourites existed.

“This contest saw 37,600 participants with a total 1.26 million litres of lubricants sold within the three-month contest time period,” said Zahari Husin, managing director of Perodua Sales. The contest was held between April and June this year, in collaboration with Petronas Lubricants Marketing (Malaysia).

Petronas Lubricants, a subsidiary of Petronas Dagangan, is the sole supplier of vehicle lubricants to Perodua’s after sales centres since May 2015. “Allow me to once again thank Petronas for your support of this programme and we look forward to working closer with you in the future,” noted Zahari.

Aside from the contest, Perodua also announced its sales performance between January and August, where it shifted over 137,200 vehicles. This, according to the national carmaker, represents a 2.6% increase compared to 133,700 vehicles sold in the same period last year.

“This achievement was done despite the very challenging market and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our business partners, the media and especially our valued customers for their strong support,” Zahari said.

Moving forward towards the end of the year, Perodua expects to see a total of 2.05 million service intakes, from 2.03 million recorded for the whole of 2016.
