The third-generation Volvo S60 is now in Malaysia, going on sale here in T8 Twin Engine R-Design form. The plug-in hybrid sedan arrives initially as a fully-imported CBU unit, priced at RM295,888 (on-the-road without insurance), but local assembly is set to take place in due course.
Sweden’s answer to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4 already wears a sharp-looking suit, but gets dressed up further by a R-Design package, which is led by an aggressive front bumper featuring a larger lower intake and blacked-out fog lamp enclosures. Black window surrounds and side mirror caps as well as 19-inch five triple-spoke diamond cut/matte black alloy wheels (wrapped with 235/40 series tyres) add yet more sport to the presentation.
The S60’s powertrain is made up of a Drive-E 2.0 litre supercharged/turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine offering 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque, a crankshaft-integrated starter/generator (CISG) and an Aisin-sourced AW TG-81SD eight-speed automatic transmission, driving the front wheels.
Meanwhile, the rear wheels are driven by an electric motor providing 87 hp and 240 Nm, making for a total system output of 407 hp and 640 Nm. The car does the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.4 seconds and has a 250 km/h top speed.
As you’d expect from a Volvo, no shortage of safety and driver assistance systems – the list includes six airbags (front, side and curtain), City Safety (autonomous emergency braking), Pilot Assist, Lane Keeping Aid, Front & Rear Collision Warning & Mitigation Support, Driver Alert Control (DAC), Run-Off Road Mitigation and Cross Traffic Alert, among others.

(Like) BMW 330i and Volvo S60
(Dislike) Mercedes C300
C300 – Comfort
Audi A4 – Cool
S40 – Rare otr
S= sleepers.
boring in and out. but can speed.
The car looks aging before launch. Good luck. Better get a Passat
Older A4 always seen parking at road shoulders
Older A6 only one or two seen OTR
Older E class always seen with engine bonnet open
Older c class always very rare scene OTR
Lexus e250and CT 100 hardly seen OTR
While I like the s60, I think the 330i will be a better all rounder. And it helps that the 330i is a non hybrid!
Same money. better buy the Audi A5 sportback,
all the blind bmw fanboys and cybertroopers liking this comment lmao go drive ur aeb-less, tin kosong, overpriced cars even god cant save yall now ;)
407hp 640Nm RM296k Truly Bargain if the Century dude.
Emitting high green house gas (320bhp) and trying to save the polar bear (hybrid) at the same time.. this is a confusing product..
This car is almost 600kg heavier than it competitors. the weight of 8 adults. Handling is definitely out, and wear and tear also expected to be worst among all.
expect to get tyre replaced faster like SUV. too bad.
The best in it’s class for everyday driving. May not be the best handling or the most comfortable but the features are second to none in it’s respective class.
How do you feel driving a RM 300k car but without the features found in RM 150k cars? Things like AEB, active cruise control, adaptive headlights are sometimes not found in similarly priced competitors.
Haha high spec but still tak laku…only volvo commenters syiok sendiri
