Remember that viral video of an Audi A4 and Toyota Wish zig-zagging on the expressway recently? Well, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested both individuals for the preposterous offence, which occurred on May 1 between KM 269 to KM 238 on the North-South Expressway (PLUS; southbound).
Thanks to the video recording, the Seremban police managed to track down both drivers. The Audi A4 driver – a 36-year-old local – turned himself in at 9 pm on May 2, while the driver of the Toyota Wish (34-year-old) surrendered the following day at 6.45 pm. Both vehicles have been impounded, too.
According to IDP Seremban, the motive for the purported “car chase” was because the Toyota Wish driver had not been paying his car loan for several months, and the Audi driver (who works as a car repossessor) intended to flag him down.
The case is still ongoing and the pair will be investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. If found guilty, the offenders will have their driver’s licence revoked for a period of up to five years, and face potential jail time not exceeding five years and a maximum fine between RM5,000 to RM10,000.
Tak berguna punya Audi, Wish pun tak dpt kalahkan. Kasihkan rotan 2 org 10kali baru boleh sedar!
According to Malaysian logic, both drivers are not at fault for reckless driving and endangering other road users, they are innocent and the blame should go to the highway designers for making it so tempting to zigzag. According to netizens, Gomen mak is hijau and she should go to jail since Gomen is in charge of that highway. Meanwhile PDRM should not have taken action against those poor drivers as they are totally innocent!
The Bank that authorise the repossesor should be taken to task. The bank cannot say,it wants the car back at all costs, even if lives r lost.
There are certain guidelines as to the act of repossessing a delinquent car.
Is it permissible to lock the wheels of the car before it is driven away, which in a way is not dangerous ?
If the bank allows its repossessors to do “James Bond” or “Vin Diesel” fast and furious type of suppressing the defaulting loan dude, imagine if someone dies as a result of these stunts.
Hello,banks..dont just aim at profits…lives on the road are at stake.
Excellent example of simply typing a comment by plucking info from thin air.
Yeah bro. This dude comments are usually so out the window that if I were a betting man this persona is a comment bot that is throwing in trending words from a google analytics trying & failing to make a functional sentence.
Banks are not to blame here. They are not doing the repo themselves but engage 3rd party repomen. Professional crews know to tag along their target and find opportunity to make a repo safely, they are also human and they risk getting killed if they mess with wrong crowd. This Audi fella is just so happens on a car open for repo and tried his luck fishing. Even then the Wish fella is at fault for defaulting and triggering a repo so he is fully responsible for this james bod or vin diesel fast and furious.
Banks are not to be blamed but too bad, the repo company/guys represent the bank, and act on behalf of the bank. The bank does not permit those action, but still the repo com/guy act on behalf of the bank. Under the law, the bank are still punishable and are held responsible.
If you hire someone to collect debt for you, and that someone accidently killed the guy, you will still likely charged for manslaughter.
All these defaulters have no shame ! Tak guna punya orang hutang kereta tak bayar ! Nak tarik balik pun jangan lah jadi gangster pulak. Paling salah tak bayar hutang nak lari pulak
why pose like footballers lol
one thing these 2 drivers have in common. the love for t-shirts, jeans and sports shoes. they dressed the same style when they surrendered to the police.
Both drivers should be given maximum sentence as warning to other road users that PDRM / JPJ mean business
Should let me drive the Audi!
I always say, ‘it’s not the car but the driver’
Buy car and use for free. Just pay the instalment. Or else surrender it.
the repossessor could have just tailed the car and seized it when the driver has made a stop.
