The Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department (JSPT KL) recently conducted its “Operasi Halangan” and “Operasi Samseng Jalanan” from December 3-4, 2022 at various areas within the city centre, including Bukit Bintang, Jalan Changkat, Jalan Alor, Jalan Raja Laut and the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE).
In “Operasi Halangan,” 35 cars and 10 motorcycles were impounded under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 (RTA 1987) for illegal modifications (exhaust system). The impounded vehicles will be sent to the department of environment (JAS) and road transport department (JPJ) for inspection before the owners are instructed to restore their vehicles to original specification. In total, 397 summons were issued during the operation that ran from 2am to 4am.
Meanwhile, “Operasi Samseng Jalanan” on the DUKE saw three individuals aged between 15 and 19 years old arrested for riding their motorcycles in a dangerous manner that included zig-zag overtaking, doing the “superman” and illegal street racing. Those that were nabbed will be charged under Section 42(1) of the RTA 1987 for reckless and dangerous riding that disturbs other road users.
During the same operation, an 18-year-old motorcyclist was also arrested under Section 29(1) of the Minor Offences Act 1955 and will be charged under Section 108(3)(e) for falsifying the vehicle registration number. According to JSPT KL, it will continue to conduct operations at the end of this week to prevent and stamp out road “samseng” activities as well as ensuring the safety of road users.
Ouch, 397 summons in 2 hours, why these people don’t sleep at 2am
Apart from this type of operasi,PDRM should conduct secara besar besaran operasi TANGKAP RECALCITRANT RIDERS at traffic lights, for speeding past red lights.
70% of riders are color blind when they approach traffic lights.
But when abang polis appear, they suddenly have normal vision again.Just pathetic bastards.Their bikes should be locked up for 2 weeks plus a Rm300 compound.
Akrapovic users enraged
And selfishly disturbing ppl who wanted to sleep…and sad to say, they vrrroooooom so long but still around that distance….got faster…meh?
this is why i always say.. its always some honda or proton car. u see the pic, proves the point.. all honda & proton loud exhausts. silly exhaust mod and does not improve the performance at all. get these off the street is best. i blame ministry of education as the source of all the messed up issues we had to deal with. slowing down country progress. we are running out of time already…
JPJ already endorse turbo engine, how can turbo engine use std exhaust?
Let say kenari put YRV 1.3 turbo , where got original kenari or even JDM move with YRV 1.3 turbo? so no need to have exhaust?
Bodoh kan? Stock evo10 pun dah 2.5inch pipe. Factory made for 4b11t. You rev till 3.5rpm pun dah bising. Funny law. From menteri sampai balaci semua merepek.
The problem with those capalang crude bolt on turbo cars is the excessive exhaust sound !.Those brand new turbo cars from car manufacturers do not have this problem!!
Exactly. No logic applied.
Turbocharged cars usually have factory fitted exhaust systems that do not make excessive noise unless you go for specific sport models or select options like in an AMG/M/RS and the like. Even then they have to be restrained to comply with regulations. Sengaja cari pasal upgrade don’t have to use noisy exhaust la, just use one that is suitable for the job and isn’t trying to deafen everyone.
Okay
Tell me where can i get a factory spec 1.3 TURBO exhaust for Perodua Kenari.
Thanks.
Nice. Should continue with this effort in other “hotspot” area as well.
authorities should have auctioned off their vehicles to the public instead of asking them to revert to the original specs.
Kesian, proton and honda geng. Buy conti, pak polis will just wave jalan. Drive jepun geng, semua kena saman.
GOOD to hear. Need to keep doing these kind of Operasi every few weeks to deter future modifications.
Please conduct similar ops in suburb areas as well not just in KL. Many cars and bikes with loud exhausts roaming on the main roads surrounding residential areas.
Some larger organisation needs to record and publicise actions taken on the police who have not being doing their jobs . Laws are broken right on the streets of Malaysia by the minute. Laws not enforced by these paid government sevants puts law to shame.and tax payors moneis to waste in form of salaries to the police who have taken their pay packets for granted .
In Kedah, 3- and 5-ton lorries use exhaust without silencer too…
Pdrm and jpj should catch those bastard had white led lamp it’s really hurt my eyes,
JPJ/PDRM, please be strict. Don’t let politicians determine your actions. The previous government reprimanded the authorities for being strict to these rempits claiming that the B40s were burdened by the fines. Come on laaa… if they have money to modify their bikes, they CAN afford to pay the fine.
What if the exhaust, though not original, but not noisy? Still kena summon?
Have those excessive loud exhaust destroyed on the spot so they cannot be reinstated…
