Got a traffic summons — or want to make sure you don't have one before renewing your road tax? Checking and paying your saman in Malaysia is now almost entirely online, but there's a catch: where you check depends on who issued it. This guide explains how to check and pay every type of saman — police, JPJ, AES cameras and parking — by IC or plate number, plus how the 2026 discount rules and blacklist system work.
First, who issued your saman?
There are three main issuers, and each has its own system. Knowing which one you're dealing with is half the battle:

How to check your saman online
Police (PDRM) summonses — MyBayar PDRM. Go to the MyBayar PDRM website or app and log in (via MyDigital ID). Any outstanding police summonses tied to your IC appear automatically — there's no service charge for paying here.
JPJ and AES/AwAS summonses — MyJPJ. Use the MyJPJ app (or the MySIKAP portal) and log in with your IC to see JPJ summonses, including automated AES/AwAS speed-camera and red-light offences. This is also where you clear a JPJ blacklist (more below).
Parking & council compounds. These aren't on the police or JPJ systems — check them on the issuing council's own platform. In Kuala Lumpur that's DBKL's portal/app; other councils (MBSA, MBPJ, MBSJ and so on) each have their own.
In every case you can search by your MyKad (IC) number or your vehicle registration (plate) number. Registering with your IC on MyBayar PDRM and MyJPJ is the surest way to catch everything tied to your name, not just one vehicle.
How to pay your saman
Once you've found a summons, paying it is straightforward:
- PDRM: pay directly in MyBayar PDRM by online banking, FPX or card — no service charge.
- JPJ / AES: pay in the MyJPJ app or via the MySIKAP portal.
- Council/parking: pay on the council's own portal or app.
- Other channels: licensed aggregators like MyEG, some bank apps, JomPAY, plus JPJ kiosks, Pos Malaysia and agency counters in person.
Payments made through official channels (MyJPJ, MyBayar PDRM) typically update within one to three working days; third-party portals can take a little longer to reflect.
Saman discounts — what changed in 2026
If you're waiting for the next festive "diskaun saman" campaign, the rules have changed. From 1 January 2026, the transport ministry standardised summons rates across agencies and scrapped the old periodic discount campaigns. In their place is a permanent early-payment structure: you pay a reduced amount if you settle soon after the summons is issued, and the amount rises toward the full rate the longer you wait — before eventual blacklisting.
The practical takeaway: pay early. The exact amount payable at any given time is always shown against each summons in the portal, so you don't have to guess. Separately, note that the ministry has signalled it intends to raise the current RM300 maximum compound as part of wider Road Transport Act amendments.
What if I'm blacklisted?
Leaving a summons unpaid long enough gets you blacklisted by JPJ or PDRM, which blocks you from renewing your road tax and driving licence. The fix is simply to settle the outstanding summons — and if it's a JPJ/AES blacklist, paying through the MyJPJ app automatically lifts the blacklist once payment clears, so you can renew your LKM (road tax) online without a counter visit.
One important exception: offences that cannot be compounded — such as driving without insurance or a licence, or displaying a fake road tax — can't be paid online and must be settled in court. A "notis hadir" (notice to attend) also requires you to appear at the JPJ office in person.
