BMW 7 Series Individual Final Edition – F01 swan song

The curtain appears to be calling for the F01/F02 – just announced for the Paris Motor Show next month is the BMW 7 Series Individual Final Edition. Its name suggests that it’s probably a run-out model for the current 7er, with the next-generation model reportedly launching some time next year.

Designed exclusively for the French market, the Final Edition, like most BMW limited editions before it, is chock-full of BMW Individual personalisation options. Paint finishes consisting of Citrine Black metallic and Mineral White will be offered, and buyers can also pick any hue from the regular 7 Series range.

Inside, there’s a choice of Platinum and Cohiba Brown Merino full leather upholstery with contrasting Black or Opal White piping and matching Platinum or Anthracite headliner. High gloss BMW Individual Piano Black trim strips complete the makeover.

The next-generation G11 7 Series is expected to ride on a new modular rear-wheel drive architecture that will underpin all rear-biased BMWs, with the construction using steel, aluminium and carbon-fibre to cut as much as 200 kg. There is also rumour of an extended-wheelbase version in addition to regular and long-wheelbase models to compete with upcoming more opulent versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
