Project delivery partner for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, MMC-Gamuda, has announced that there will be a continuation of a bound closure in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) from tomorrow (July 15) until September 30 to facilitate construction work at the TTDI station, Bernama reports.

The closure, which will take place from 11 pm to 6 am daily, stretches from the junction of Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad and Jalan Damansara (near Pizza Hut) to the Indah Water Konsortium. Five lanes will remain open for motorists headed from Kuala Lumpur to the SPRINT Highway.

During that time, motorists from Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad and Jalan Leong Yew Koh (using the TTDI interchange underpass towards SS2) will be able to access the SPRINT Highway using the LDP, at the Damansara Utama interchange near the police station.

Meanwhile, those headed from Kepong will have to proceed through the flyover and turn left at the Damansara Utama interchange to get on the SPRINT Highway, while those coming from SS2 headed to Jalan Damansara (KL/SPRINT-bound) will have to make a U-turn at the Bandar Utama interchange, take the flyover at the TTDI interchange towards SS2 and connect to SPRINT at the Damansara Utama interchange.

For those on the SPRINT headed to TTDI, traffic will be diverted to the TTDI interchange to make a U-turn before the traffic light, before proceeding to Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad.

During the same period, a contraflow will also be implemented from the Pizza Hut to Entrance B of the TTDI MRT Station, with traffic from LDP and TTDI headed towards the SPRINT Highway diverted to the opposite lane; one traffic lane will be made available for each direction. The junction of Jalan Wan Kadir, Jalan Wan Kadir 3 and Jalan Damansara will be closed or inaccessible during the contraflow period.

Additionally, MMC-Gamuda will also continue with the long-term night Traffic Management Plan (TMP) for the surrounding area of the TTDI interchange during the same period to facilitate painting, cable installation and related construction work for the special span TTDI MRT Station.

The plan will involve the closure of the full slip road from Jalan Leong Yew Koh to Jalan Damansara, as well as the underpass at the TTDI interchange and Jalan Leong Yew Koh to the LDP. There will also be a closure of the U-turn to TTDI as well as the access road from SS2 to Jalan Damansara.

In Cheras, Jalan Cheras will be closed near Taman Midah from tomorrow (July 15) to August 15 between 11 pm and 5 am to facilitate the launching of a jack roof and related works at the Taman Midah MRT Station. During the closure, one lane will be made available to motorists from Kajang headed towards the East-West Link Expressway.

Traffic from KL headed towards Kajang will be diverted to the internal road at the Petronas petrol station near the Cheras Christian Cemetery, and return to Jalan Cheras through an exit near McDonald’s. Motorists headed from Kajang will be diverted to the lane underneath the Taman Midah station.

There will also be a two-night closure on Jalan Cheras near Cheras Sentral during the weekend on July 16 and 17, from 12 am to 5 am. This involves a closure of the right-most lane at the 800 m Kajang-bound stretch opposite Cheras Sentral Mall.
